A first cleanse removes the visible layer of the day

A first cleanse is the opening removal step when you have makeup or another product layer to take off. Its purpose is practical: loosen and lift that layer before the rest of the night routine.

Gilded Makeup Remover belongs in this first step. Use it according to the product page and packaging rather than treating “first cleanse” as a promise that every routine must look identical.

Is makeup remover the same as face wash?

Not necessarily. “Makeup remover” describes the removal job, while “face wash” usually describes cleansing skin with a rinse-off cleanser. Some people follow makeup remover with a separate cleanser; others choose a simpler routine based on product directions and preference.

The Gilded Bloom does not claim that its makeup remover replaces every cleanser for every person. If you follow with face wash, keep the process gentle.

Gentle technique matters more than speed

Give the remover time to spread over the makeup instead of pulling or scrubbing quickly. Around the eyes, follow the packaging and avoid getting product in the eyes.

The AAD recommends using fingertips and a gentle, non-abrasive approach when washing the face. Lukewarm water and patting dry are preferable to aggressive scrubbing.

What comes after the first cleanse

Choose only the next steps you intend to use. That may be a separate face wash, a lighter leave-on product used as directed, and then a moisturizer. Gilded GHK-Cu Face Cream sits in the final moisture position.

Golden Glow Polish does not belong in this face sequence. It is a separate body-polish step for the shower or bath.

The routine in one sentence

Remove makeup first, cleanse gently if your routine calls for it, and finish face care with moisturizer. A clear order is more useful than collecting extra steps without a reason.

If your skin is persistently uncomfortable or you have questions about a skin condition, seek guidance from a qualified medical professional rather than trying to solve it with a longer routine.
